With a passion for helping teenagers come to know the fullness of life that only Jesus Christ can offer, Alex Doriot is excited about the opportunity to serve as the Youth and Media Minister at First Baptist Church Mableton. Alex and his wife Kate moved to Atlanta in 2014 and he accepted the call to FBC Mableton in the fall of 2015.
Alex and Kate met as Young Life leaders and from that day on have shared a love of communicating the gospel to students through scripture, service and silliness. After 12 years serving in volunteer and full-time positions in ministry Alex still loves buidling relationships with teenagers and communicating the love of Christ to them in every opportunity.
Originally from Augusta, GA, Alex graduated from Augusta State University with a degree in Communications. Over the past decade he's served, led games and spoken to churches and youth groups across Georgia, Tennessee and the Carolinas. In his spare time Alex loves to run, visit record stores and coffee shops, play with his dogs and write about the intersection of faith and pop culture. He's been published over the years in Faith Magazine, The Augusta Chronicle and Venn Magazine among other places. Alex also blogs regularly about the presence of God in the present at his website Pop God Blog.
